Math & Reading Tutoring That Builds Real Confidence

A private tutoring studio in Cicero, NY helping kids build math and reading skills with confidence.

Hi, I'm Megan

I’m a teacher who believes kids learn best when they feel known, supported, and capable. After 8 years in education, including my work providing math intervention and small group instruction, I wanted to create a different kind of learning space. One where kids can slow down, ask questions, practice skills, and build real confidence without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. That’s how The Learning Table came to be: a private tutoring studio in Cicero, serving families throughout Onondaga County and the greater Syracuse area.

what is offered

Every session is built around your child, whether that’s one-on-one or in a small group.

Private 1:1 Sessions

30 or 60 minutes of individualized math or reading instruction, built entirely around your child's needs.

Small Group Learning

60-minute sessions with a maximum of four learners, grouped by age with instruction adjusted to each child.

Homeschool Support

Curriculum-connected instruction plus optional quarterly progress reports for homeschool families.

What We Focus On

Confidence Building

A lot of what we do together isn't just skill practice, it's helping your child believe they can do hard things. Kids who feel capable tend to show up differently, in tutoring and everywhere else.

Math Intervention (RTI)

I built my approach around Response to Intervention (RTI), the same framework I used for years in the classroom. That means starting with an honest look at where your child is right now, then targeting the specific skills that will move them forward fastest, not generic worksheets.

Reading Skills & Fluency

Whether your child needs help with letter sounds, fluency, or comprehension, we work at their pace with guided practice and visual supports that actually make it click. The goal is building the skill and the confidence to use it.

Hands-On Learning Materials

My studio is stocked with manipulatives, visual supports, and educational games matched to each child's needs. Learning tends to stick better when kids can touch it, move it, and see it, not just read about it.
