A focused half-hour of individualized math or reading instruction. Works well for younger learners or targeted skill practice.

A full hour to go deep on one subject, or split it 30/30 between math and reading. The combined format is only available for private sessions.

60 Minutes / Max 4 Learners

Small groups capped at four kids, grouped by age, with one subject or skill focus per session so we can go deep together.

now you know

Every session at The Learning Table is planned around your child's individual learning needs. Depending on the type of session, your child may get targeted math or reading instruction, guided practice, hands-on learning, visual supports, educational games, and practice with specific skills we're working to strengthen.

Families also get optional take-home practice picked specifically for their child. The goal is never busywork, just meaningful practice when it'll actually help.

For homeschool families, I can also provide quarterly progress report support to help document the skills and progress we've worked on together.

Sessions are held at my private learning studio in Cicero, right in the heart of Onondaga County. The studio is in a separate building on my property, completely independent from my house, so it's a quiet, comfortable space set up just for learning.

It's stocked with hands-on materials, visual supports, educational games, manipulatives, and other resources that let me adjust instruction to each child's needs. That's why I recommend the studio whenever possible, having everything on hand lets me be more flexible and hands-on.

If coming to the studio isn't the best fit for your family, I'm happy to talk about meeting at your home, a local library, or another spot that works. Off-site sessions depend on location, scheduling, and availability.

For privacy, I don't publish the studio's exact address online. I'll send the address and arrival details directly once we've scheduled a session.

The Learning Table supports math and reading for kids roughly 4 to 12 years old, generally Pre-K through 6th grade.

Instruction is based on the individual learner, not age or grade alone. Kids develop academic skills at different rates, so sessions meet your child where they are and help them keep building skills, confidence, and independence.

For younger learners, sessions may include early number sense, foundational math concepts, letter and sound development, early literacy skills, and hands-on learning. As kids grow, instruction can shift toward targeted math and reading skills, intervention, reinforcement, problem-solving, comprehension, fluency, and enrichment.

The Learning Table currently offers math and reading instruction. Sessions are personalized based on your child's current skills, learning goals, and where additional instruction, reinforcement, or enrichment would help most.

Small groups are intentionally limited to a maximum of four kids. Groups are generally organized by age, with instruction and practice adjusted to meet each child's specific needs.

Each small group session focuses on one subject or targeted skill area, so we can spend real time practicing and strengthening that skill. As I get to know each learner, group placement can be adjusted if another group or setting would be a better fit.

Not at all. The Learning Table supports kids at many different points in their learning journey.

Some kids are struggling with a particular math or reading skill and need targeted intervention. Others understand the material but want more practice, reinforcement, or a confidence boost. Homeschool students may benefit from additional instruction, targeted skill practice, or another educator's perspective alongside their regular curriculum. And some kids are already doing well academically but are ready for enrichment and extra challenge.

There doesn't need to be a problem for your child to benefit. The goal is figuring out where your child is now, what they need next, and how I can best support their growth.

No, all learners are welcome. The Learning Table supports kids attending homeschool, homeschool co-ops, public school, private school, or other programs.

Because homeschool families often have unique needs, I offer additional homeschool-specific support, including connecting instruction to your family's curriculum and quarterly progress report support. Wherever your child learns during the week, sessions are built around their individual needs.

Yes. For homeschool families, I can complete a quarterly progress report reflecting the skills and learning we've worked on together. I'll provide the completed report directly to you, and you can use it as a guide or supporting resource for your homeschool documentation.

Please note families are still responsible for completing and submitting any documentation required for their homeschool program. I don't submit quarterly reports or other homeschool documentation on a family's behalf.

I'll provide optional practice based on a specific skill your child is working to strengthen. This isn't meant to add homework or pressure, just a chance to reinforce what we practiced during the session.

Private sessions are built entirely around your child's needs. 30-minute sessions focus on either math or reading and work well for targeted skill practice or younger learners who do best with shorter, focused instruction.

During a 60-minute private session, families can focus on one subject or split it into 30 minutes of math and 30 minutes of reading. Combined math and reading sessions are available for private 1:1 instruction only.

You don't have to figure that out alone. Before getting started, I'm happy to schedule a brief parent consultation to learn more about your child, what you're hoping to accomplish, and any concerns or goals you have.

When it makes sense, I can also do an informal academic screening to get a better read on your child's current math and reading skills. Together we can figure out whether your child would benefit most from individualized 1:1 instruction or a small group setting.

I start with an informal math and reading screening based on your child's age and expected developmental skills. This helps identify strengths as well as areas that could use more instruction, practice, or enrichment.

I also encourage families to share what their child is currently learning, whether that's workbooks, homeschool or co-op curriculum, assignments, schoolwork, or examples of anything they're finding challenging. Seeing what your child is working on outside The Learning Table lets me connect our sessions to their everyday learning while still targeting their individual needs.

Nothing special required. My private learning studio is stocked with the materials, hands-on resources, visual supports, and tools we'll need. Families are welcome to send workbooks, curriculum materials, co-op assignments, schoolwork, or examples of anything their child is working on or finding challenging.

Communication with families matters to me. After each session, I'll give you brief feedback about what we worked on, how your child responded, and what skills we're continuing to target.

That's okay. Group placement isn't permanent. If another group, skill focus, or private setting would better support your child, we can make adjustments. Because The Learning Table stays intentionally small, I have the flexibility to really get to know my learners and make changes when needed. The priority is finding an environment where your child can learn successfully and feel confident.

Absolutely. Siblings are welcome to attend together if that works best for your family. Depending on their ages, skill levels, and learning goals, we can figure out whether the same small group, separate groups, or private instruction makes the most sense.

No, there are no long-term contracts or commitments. Private 1:1 sessions can be scheduled around your family's needs and current availability.

Families who want consistent small group instruction can reserve a recurring weekly spot. Because groups are limited to four learners, recurring spots are meant for kids who plan to attend regularly. Families who prefer occasional small group sessions are also welcome whenever a group has availability.

Life happens. Whenever possible, I ask for at least 24 hours' notice so I have a chance to offer the opening to another family. There's no cancellation fee right now. Small group makeup sessions aren't guaranteed, but when scheduling allows, I'll do my best to fit one in.

Payment is made per session, with no package or long-term commitment required. Right now I accept Venmo, cash, or check.

Most families drop off and return at the end of the scheduled session. That said, I know both parents and kids sometimes need time to get comfortable with a new learning environment. Parents are welcome to stay for the first few sessions to observe, see how we work together, and help their child settle in. Once your child is comfortable, sessions are generally drop-off and pick-up.

The Learning Table keeps intentionally limited appointment times.

Tuesday through Thursday: one private appointment at 4:30 PM (30 or 60 minutes)
Saturday: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, private and small group
Sunday: closed

Current openings are shared in the Availability section of the site so families can easily see what's open. Because The Learning Table is intentionally small, availability is limited.
